Awards

The men of Zahm--by House vote--bestow five awards near the end of each academic year upon students and staff.


Current Awards:


House Spirit Award - since 1990

The House Spirit Award is bestowed upon that senior Zahmbie, designated by a vote of his peers, as the man who best exemplifies through actions and personal character the spirt of Zahm.

Stephen Saunders Memorial Award - since 1990

The Stephen Saunders Memorial Award is awarded to the Zahm freshman who best display's Steve's spirit, strong sense of faith, dedication to academics, enthusiasm for athletics, and positive influence on the House.

Citation of Merit Award - since 1991

The Division of Student Affairs annually presents a Citation of Merit to one graduating senior from Zahm. It is awarded to the senior who makes the best contribution to Notre Dame's residential mission through service in the House.

Fr. Thomas King, C.S.C. Award - since 1998

The Fr. Thomas King, C.S.C. Award is awarded to the member of the House government or staff who displays the qualities of leadership, tireless energy, and undying devotion to Zahm House.

Andrew Bunikis Service Award - since 2009

The Andrew Bunikis Service Award is awarded to the Zahm man who best exemplifies Andrew's commitment to service beyond the House.

Fr. Thomas Tallarida, C.S.C. Award - 1981-2014

The Fr. Thomas Tallarida, C.S.C. Award is awarded to the Zahm man who best exemplifies Fr. Ta's spirit and dedication to the betterment of student life at the University of Notre Dame.
